- 6–8 medium potatoes, peeled, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup ham, diced
- 6 slices American cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- In a large pot, add celery, onion and potatoes. Cover vegetables with water and bring to a boil.
- When potatoes are soft, add butter, evaporated milk, ham, cheese, salt and pepper.
- Simmer until done, stirring occasionally.
